Starbucks Tryer Center is a 20,000 square-foot innovation facility at Starbucks Support Center in Seattle, WA dedicated to fueling faster and deeper innovation at Starbucks. Managers lead cross-functional teams that go from idea to action in 100 days. It is a dynamic environment for Starbucks partners to think, build and test, fueled by collaboration and transparency. Tryer also houses the Tryer Lab in which Seattle-area baristas test and co-create new ideas and innovations developed for Starbucks stores and store operations.
This job provides dedicated administrative support to the Tryer Center and to two directors within the Global Equipment, Packaging & Tryer Team. Handles confidential and non-routine information. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in making decisions and carries out activities following general guidelines. Demonstrates the ability to perform effectively with limited direction. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Summary of Key Job Responsibilities

Sits at the front desk of the Tryer Center and, as such, represents Tryer as the ‘face’ of Starbucks innovation center and the Tryer Team. Serves as the key point of contact for Tryer and answers questions, directs requests to appropriate partners. Organizes Tryer Center tours, external guest visits, etc.
Helps with day-to-day facility management of the 20,000 sq ft Tryer Center including maintenance, project scheduling, vendor communication and partner (employee) questions. Maintains and stocks the Hack Labs, Tryer kitchen, and Sprint Rooms.
Provides administrative support including effectively planning and maintaining Tryer Center and two director calendars with attention to accuracy, detail and allocation of time and resources to promote productivity and successful execution of executive and team goals and objectives.
Plans and organizes recurring team meetings and offsites for the Tryer and Engineering Concept Development teams
As needed, supports scheduling of travel, expense reports and administrative budget / invoice submittal.
Supports the Tryer Lab by submitting and processing hourly payroll for Lab partners.
Actively engages with greater R&D administrative team to share best practices, cascade communications, develop open communication paths and assist with various group meetings and offsites.

Basic Qualifications

Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary):

High School diploma/GED or 4 or more years of US military service
3 or more years of experience in a role performing administrative assistant or coordinator job functions

Skills (minimum skills required):

Demonstrates confidence, composure and professionalism
Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects, meet deadlines and follow through on commitments
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with attention to detail
Self-starter and ability to work independently as well as on a team
Ability to deliver consistently high quality and professional customer service to both internal and external customers
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Demonstrates an aptitude for learning new concepts on the job
Knowledge of general office administration, procedures and equipment

Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills (minimum needed to be qualified):

Progressive administrative experience 3-6 yrs
Providing support to executive level management or equivalent 3-6 yrs
Fast-paced environment 3-6 yrs
