The CIB Research & Analytics (CIB R&A) vertical works with global teams across the Banking, Markets, Wholesale Payments, Security Services, Strategy and Research business segments About the Centralized Research Group (CRG): The Centralized Research Group is a part of the CIB Research & Analytics (CIB R&A) vertical. CRG team works closely with the firm’s Banking teams across the globe in preparing pitch books & marketing materials. These books can relate to mergers & acquisitions, equity capital raising or debt capital raising. The CIB CRG Associate role: The Associate’s main responsibilities will include: Pitch / Presentation: Prepare end-to-end marketing materials for clients including like industry landscapes, financial analysis, valuations models, target company profiles and benchmarking. Work and liaise with teams across levels, geographies and teams to source and put together materials. Work on various types of financial analysis including ratings analysis, capital structure analysis and firepower analysis. Actively build and develop valuation and financial models including but not limited to DCF, LBOs, accretion / dilution and leverage analysis. Produce client-ready outputs which are crisp, relevant and supported by well-structured MS Excel backups. Deal execution support: Ability to provide end-to-end execution support on M&A/ ECM/ DCM deals by helping bankers on deal documentation, pitch-work, due diligence, detailed financial modelling, sales force memos and internal team coordination Sector / Product Coverage: Build deep expertise and insight on a specific sector / product that can be leveraged by bankers. Generate high quality reports highlighting emerging trends. Proactively cover sector(s) and track developments regularly Idea generation: Track a select list of J.P. Morgan’s priority clients and work with MDs / EDs / VPs to evaluate potential deal opportunities across the entire range of solutions and services offered by J.P. Morgan. Carefully evaluate potential targets and suggest possible new ideas on the M&A / ECM / DCM side Project management: Comprehend projects with a high level of accuracy and display a strong understanding of the deliverables. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and input. Engage proactively with MDs/EDs/VPs to understand client perspective and provide value-added inputs. Ability to multi-task without compromising on the quality of output. Work with senior management on various CRG-wide initiatives like hiring, training, knowledge development and automation. Team management : Reviews priorities & manages team expectations proactively. Manage and monitor workload to ensure that all internal / external deadlines are met. Pro-actively maintain regular value-added contact with resource managers and staffers across appropriate geography(ies). Respond to staffing requests in a speedy and timely manner. Mentor juniors in the team and help them develop the right skill sets by reviewing their deliverables and sharing best practices. Ability to understand and make a clear distinction between informed opinion and uninformed opinion (hunch). Engage and communicate effectively with internal as well as external stakeholders to keep them informed of activity in the region. Work with team(s) across the globe to maximize efficiency and improve integration levels. Essential skills / qualifications: Chartered Accountant or MBA from top tier school or professional qualification in Accountancy / Finance Total work experience of 3-4 years post qualification preferably in research / investment banking / consulting Relevant 2-3 years of managerial experience is a plus Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact at all levels Strong knowledge of accounting, financial statements, financial modeling and corporate valuation Expertise across the MS Office application suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word Excellent awareness of investment banking solutions and services Excellent organizational, planning, time management and problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task, deliver quality results and meet deadlines under pressure Self-starter with a proven track record, intrinsically motivated, quick learner and comfortable with working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Strong team player with an ability to work and build relationships with teams distributed across the globe Ability to summarize, simplify and communicate detailed and complex information to a broad range of team members across the seniority spectrum, whether verbally or written Ability to mentor and guide juniors / new members of the team Ensure the highest ethical standards and regulatory compliance within the team JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
