Introduction: Operations Specialist working in Mainframe Applications¬ team to provide technical support, testing and Implementation of change to the Banks live IBM Mainframe systems (online and batch). Changes handled include planned and emergency work. Other tasks include Problem Resolution via Service management tool and Disaster Recovery activities. What will you be doing? Analysing, interpreting and implementing, or supporting, change requests.Changes are to be implemented within agreed timescale, budget and quality whilst adhering to existing technical and security standardsCoding, testing and implementing Communications Server definition changesIncident and problem managementLiaising with operations, support areas and clients to investigate and resolve live incidents and problems on a 24×7 basisProactively maintaining or enhancing mainframe Communications Server software infrastructure What we’re looking for: Have good knowledge of COBOL, DB2, VSAM, IMS, CICS, REXX, JCL, DB2 PLATINUM, TWS and Service nowHaving prior experience on Test environment support like Batch runs and required support from the operations team.Analytical ability including root cause identification and pro-active service improvementHaving knowledge of batch execution.Strong problem diagnosis through the use of analytical skills.Write advanced REXX. Understands Data class and Management class at intermediate level. Advanced level of SQL and DB2 Utilities. Has basic knowledge of COBOL.Has Expert knowledge of the TWS scheduling tool.Incident management tool experience Skills that will help you in the role: Excellent Communication skills, articulate and detail oriented.Designing reusable mainframe connectivity solutions which adhere to existing technical and security standards.Maintaining and supporting mainframe software necessary for connecting to the mainframeEffective in working both independently and within a team, with minimal guidanceStrong analytical / problem solving skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsStrong planning and organisation skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesA team player Where will you be working?
