Job Opening details:- Company Name :- Wood Plc Position Name :- SPEL Administrator Company Location :- Chennai, Tamil Nadu Job Category :  General Category Full Job Description :- Overview / Responsibilities: Wood is currently recruiting for Systems Engineer (SPEL / S3D) to join our Engineering Systems team in Chennai. This role will extensively interface with multi-location project execution teams as well as Project Systems personnel across the world. The selected candidates will be expected to work in a multidiscipline, multicultural team environment where the overall success of the project is paramount. Responsible for: Providing support for admin activities in Hexagon (Intergraph ) SPEL / S3D Setting up project systems on SPEL / S3D platforms and ongoing administration Provisioning and supporting Technical Applications Delivery of project systems deliverables on projects Facilitating electronic data handover to customer Duties include: Coordinate configuration, implementation and utilization of Hexagon Tools S3D / SPEL / SPF to support project and client requirements across the project lifecycle in workshare / distributed environment Able to do Catalogues & Specs and capable of supporting user’s issues in SPEL / S3D modelling and drafting Provide technical support and guidance to the project team of engineers and designers on the use of the systems Single Point of Contact for all system requirements for projects and users Create/Setup/Administer project systems resources (e.g. databases, templates, catalogues & specifications, borders & symbols etc.) Promote and support effective methods of producing deliverables and drafting assistance to users Coordinate with the users from the respective engineering disciplines and support them meet the project deliverables with timeliness and quality Liaise with the relevant teams with regards to interfaces required for data exchange with the client and vendors Facilitate multi-discipline end user access to implemented systems as required First line of user support providing solutions for project systems related issues and engaging with IT support team where relevant Develop customised solutions and reports to meet project and user requirements Define, develop and implement system database/file structure with clients and within the projects Coordinate and implement interfaces with other project systems, including other applications Coordinate to resolve interfacing issues and hardware/software issues related to Project Systems Identify and research latest versions or potential additions/ alternatives to project systems tools in use Assist in defining, developing and implementing project-specific Work Instructions, Procedures, Standards, Workflows and Templates etc. and participate in new development & enhancements Skills / Qualifications: Degree in Engineering (4 years) preferably Mechanical / Chemical / Civil / Electrical / Instrumentation 5-10 years of total experience in the setup and administration of Hexagon tools (SPEL / S3D) preferably in Oil & Gas industry Should possess knowledge in SPEL / S3D and have exposure to managing global projects Experienced with the working systems and environment of Hexagon systems used in the execution of projects preferably in Oil & Gas industry Knowledge in Information Management and Integrated Engineering Systems processes and principles Skills / Qualifications (Desirable) Possessing working knowledge of programming language like .Net, C#, VB6, and RDBMS like SQL, oracle etc. Basic knowledge of Information Technology in: Server/Desktop Microsoft Windows environment and general office tools Microsoft Windows operating system and Active Directory IT Infrastructure WAN/LAN etc. Information Security and governance Company Overview: Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world’s most critical challenges.
